There are two kinds of throttle: traditional cable type and electronic throttle. The traditional engine throttle control mechanism works by cable (soft steel wire) or pull rod, one end is connected with accelerator pedal, the other end is connected with throttle linkage plate.
The electronic throttle mainly uses the throttle position sensor to control the opening angle of the throttle according to the energy required by the engine, so as to adjust the intake volume.
There are four types of electronic throttle: electro-hydraulic type, linear electromagnet type, stepping motor type and DC servo motor type. However, due to the low control accuracy of electro-hydraulic type and stepping motor type, the linear electromagnetic type is rarely used in the automobile due to the large power consumption. The DC servo motor type overcomes the above two situations, so it is widely used in the automobile. In addition, the throttle valve also needs to be replaced regularly, and the length of time mainly depends on the quality of air filter, oil quality, vehicle driving conditions and other factors.

The main cause of throttle fouling is oil vapor, followed by particles and moisture in the air. That is to say, when qualified air filter is used and crankcase ventilation pipe is removed, the throttle fouling speed will be much slower.
When the oil-bearing steam reaches the intake pipe, it becomes cold, and the oil in it will condense on the intake port and throttle valve, and then the carbon deposit in the steam will also deposit in these parts. Because the air flow in the opening gap of the throttle valve is the largest, the space is small, and the gas temperature is low, this part is most likely to condense.
